Long before the term Scientific Visualization came into being, scientists and engineers were using graphics tools to study and analyze the acquired or simulated data. I was using simple contours to analyze cloud simulation data. Around 1987, NSF initiated Scientific Visualization endeavor that uses advanced computer graphics to visualize data. The Scientific Visualization became a discipline and for some people a career.
I started doing scientific visualization while working for JPL and NASA. I continued to do scientific visualization research and services while working for Fujitsu. Later, I did some projects for San Jose State University and Lockheed-Martin.
